First-course starter for vinyl and aluminum siding. Locks the bottom of the first panel and sets a level reference for everything above.

Starter strip nails to the wall at the base of a siding course, providing the locking edge the bottom of the first panel of vinyl or aluminum siding snaps into. Sets the leveling reference for the entire wall — a crooked starter run propagates upward, so this is one piece worth setting twice. 10-foot lengths cut and butt cleanly.
